先人が築き上げてきたものづくりの技術と製法を永続させ、
「当たり前に良いもの」を多くの人に知ってもらうことです。
素材や製法、技術そのものがインスピレーションの源となり、
“NOUS PROJECTS”のフィルターを通して新たなデザインが生まれます。
Nous projects is an initiative to uphold our family principles
in what we do to preserve our established brand.

and our continuous source of inspiration.
本質を見抜き、理を解して作り上げる
古代哲学において、NOUS(ヌース)という言葉には
「本質を見抜く、理を解して物事を作り上げる」という解釈があります。
本質を求めて素材を選び、機能を与え、直感的な美しさに従うことが調和を生み出し、
インテリアのトータルバランスを向上させると確信しています。
そして、この設計思想に支えられた私たちの家具が生活の中に溶け込み、
持ち主の個性と文化を創り出すことに期待を託します。

we are able to accentuate their instinctive beauty on our furniture.

MANUFACTURE
'EUCAS'
ユーカスは1965年に創業。福岡県久留米市城島の自社工場で、開発から生産までを一貫して行うソファメーカーです。筑後地方で盛んだった粘土瓦の製造を行っていた創業者が、当時の家庭には普及していなかった応接家具に着目。家具製造への転進を目指して、ソファづくりを一から始めました。かつては応接セットとしての役割を担っていましたが、時代の移り変わりにより今では生活空間のためのソファが主流となりました。素材や工法が変革を遂げる中、繊細な手仕事がソファづくりに必要であることは今も変わりません。
ユーカスのソファには、座り心地と快適性を追求した開発データの蓄積に加え、熟練の技術が注ぎ込まれています。また、ファブリックや皮革の選択、豊富なサイズバリエーション、素材の変更など注文を受けてから製作するバイオーダーシステムを採用し、ユーザーニーズに応えます。
Eucas was founded in 1965. A craft maker based in Jojima, Kurume city, Fukuoka, who develop and manufacture sofas. Clay tile manufacturing was popular in Chikugo region and our founder, Yoshio Nakashima who was also a clay tile maker, noticed that sofas will be popular among Japanese people in the future. He shifted his career to be a sofa maker and started manufacturing sofas from scratch. Back then, a sofa was used in a drawing room, but as time has changed, setting a sofa in a living room became the mainstream. Although the process of manufacturing sofas and its materials have changed over time, delicate hand work is still key to producing good sofas. From years of experience providing sofa to our customers, we regularly receive feedback on our products that enable us to constantly improve their design and comfortability. From a wide selection of fabric, leather types and sizes available, our on-demand system allows our customers to further customise sofas to their needs.
